Here is a customer whose health has started to deteriorate over the years and now finds herself need to use the wheelchair.
It was a family member that made contact with us having seen this one we did a while ago.
The remit was simple – Lift the blocks up and create gentle slopes in all directions.
Once all the blocks were removed, we raised the height of the land using a sub-base of granular MOT and added sharp sand on the top of that. Once the blocks took their new shape, we had to cut all the border blocks by the doors as the door sill was now in the way. These newly sized blocks were cemented in and an air gap was left under the sill for drainage.
They were all thrilled with the result as access to the garden is now so much easier.
We really enjoy this type of job because we can see the difference it makes to how people live their lives.
